Welcome to my site,
I’m Karyn Stinson owner and trainer at The Shire Station; I have owned
and operated Rainbow Arabians a breeding and training ranch for the past 22
Years. I bred and raced endurance horses, I was a top ten rider for several
years, winning many trophys, on my straight Egyptian gelding “VA Shah Farouk”, I
am a proud owner of a “Tevis buckle”, from one of the toughest 100 mile ra ces
in the United States, I have also competed in Native Costume with Farouk, and
ridden in several parades, and shows. My Arabian Stallion “Impires Yoda” was my
multi -champion halter horse, and today my daughter Sheena and I still ride our
Arabians. I have competed in a few Team Pennings and Ranch Sortings with
Quarter Horses, winning my first sorting buckle in 2002. My latest buckle was
won in April, doing 2 on 1 competition with the quarter horses. I have been a
professional body clipper and show groomer for several years now, and have
hosted Grooming and Halter clinics at my ranch, with the proceeds going to the
handicapped riding school “Ride and Shine”.
In 1997 I met Mel and Jane Fischer of Big
Feather Shires in Lincoln CA. At that time they had hired me to train their
young Stallion Deighton Brandmark AKA Copenhagen. I have taken Copenhagen to win
many championships
in halter. In 1999 he won the ASHA Western Regional Grand Champion Stallion, and
Senior Stallion title; he has been invited to many breed shows to represent the
ideal Shire Stallion as well as attending several fair shows. I currently stand
Copenhagen at my ranch for breeding. I have successfully shown one of
Copenhagen’s daughters, “Copenhagen’s Sterling Silver Belle’, Belle has won
several blue ribbons in halter classes, following in her sires footsteps. Cole's
Daniel, an 8 year old Shire gelding that I have been training this past couple
of years, has been very successful in his halter career, and has become one of
my favorite horses to ride. He works well in the
arena as well as the trail, Daniel and Belle were in 2 Christmas parades with
their elves aboard in 2004, The latest parade with Daniel was the Rio Vista Bass
Festival Parade, along with his spotted Draft buddy, “Moses”. The latest
additions to The Shire Station are some big beautiful colts; a 2 year old sired by “Hillmore Double
Diamond” and Shakespeare Jet Invader. Watch for us at the 2007 Shire National Show in Pomona California!
